bio

Ben Waldrip is a Medford, Massachusetts native with an impressive track record as both a player and coach. A standout athlete at the collegiate level, Ben played NCAA Division I baseball for Jacksonville State University, where he competed for the Gamecocks and earned OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) Preseason All-Conference honors—recognition of his elite-level hitting ability and baseball acumen.
Ben’s success at Jacksonville State earned him a spot in the MLB Draft, where he was selected in the 10th round by the Colorado Rockies. His professional experience competing in the Rockies’ minor league system gave him firsthand knowledge of what it takes to compete at the highest amateur and professional levels.
Beyond his college and professional achievements, Ben was also a Cape Cod League All-Star, one of the most prestigious summer leagues in the country. The Cape Cod League is known for attracting the nation’s top college players, and Ben’s selection as an All-Star speaks to his elite-level performance and competitive presence.
As Hitting Development Coordinator, Ben brings his professional playing experience and deep understanding of hitting mechanics to our coaching staff. His approach emphasizes the technical and mental aspects of hitting—swing mechanics, pitch recognition, approach at the plate, and the confidence required to compete against elite pitching. Ben works across all Canes New England programs to develop hitters who can compete at the next level.
Ben’s combination of college success, professional experience, and Cape Cod League credentials make him a valuable mentor to our players and a key contributor to our hitting development philosophy.
