Shawn Secondini is a Stoneham, Massachusetts native and former NCAA Division III baseball player who attended Anna Maria College. As a standout athlete in college baseball, Shawn developed a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the collegiate level and the work ethic required to succeed.
With extensive coaching experience at the high school level, Shawn has served as Head Coach at both Danvers High School and Stoneham High School, where he built competitive programs focused on player development and character. His time in the high school ranks gave him invaluable insight into the recruiting process, college expectations, and the mental and physical demands of the game.
As Director of Player Development, Shawn oversees the comprehensive development of all players across Canes New England programs, ensuring that every athlete receives the coaching, support, and resources needed to reach their potential. His role is instrumental in building the systems and standards that define our organization.
As Head Coach, Shawn leads elite-level teams with a focus on preparing athletes for the next level—whether that’s college recruitment or advanced competitive play. His coaching emphasizes college-ready mechanics, mental toughness under pressure, recruiting readiness, and the character traits that define successful athletes. Shawn’s direct experience with the recruiting process means our players benefit from practical guidance on showcases, communication with coaches, and positioning themselves for opportunities at the next level.
His coaching philosophy centers on building resilient, accountable players who compete with grit and lead with character—the foundation of everything we do at Canes New England.
